Sanibel

Sep 1-11, 2000

In September, we took our yearly trip to our timeshare on Sanibel Island, FL. We really enjoy a week of nothing but walking the beach, reading beside the pool, and eating in our favorite restaurants. The name of our resort is is Casa Ybel, and here are some shots of the grounds.

Sanibel is know for its sea shells, but over the years weve collected a lot and don't spend much time looking anymore. We do enoy seeing the many varieties of birds, such as terns, spoonbills, osprey, ibis, and heron. Below are some terns and an osprey sitting in a tree. Wsh I would have had a telephoto lens for the osprey.

Loggerhead and other endangered turtles nest on the island. The nests are marked so that they won't be disturbed.

The final weekend of our Florida trip was spent visting john's parents at their garden home in Port St. Lucie.
